Abstract
The objective of this study was to identify the academic difficulties faced by engineering students at FIME, UANL. A Likert scale questionnaire with 11 questions and a semi-structured interview were used as data collection tools. The data collected were analyzed with the Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) program. The sample consisted of 130 students from different educational programs of the School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering (FIME) of the UANL. The results show that the most frequent difficulties of FIME engineering students are related to teaching methods and self-regulation for study.
