This new issue of Transdisciplinar offers a broad panorama of social issues and diverse approaches explored by the various disciplines it encompasses—sociology, pedagogy, history, economics, and philosophy. On one hand, it includes structural analyses addressing wide-ranging themes such as the forms of life produced by capitalism in its current neoliberal phase, marked by heightened individualism, the erosion of social bonds, and the commodification of culture and life itself. Similarly, another article examines the relationship between inequality and poverty in low-income households in Mexico. Under the same structural lens, the issue presents an analysis of Bukele’s rise to the presidency in El Salvador and his government’s authoritarian turn. Migration as a Latin American phenomenon is also featured, with a specific focus on the mental health of migrants. On the other hand, a series of contributions in this issue presents case studies or academic proposals—for example, the need for design principles in adapting spaces for crime victims in Ciudad Juárez. Another study explores the fundamental right to water and sanitation in a border context, specifically Baja California’s frontier with California (U.S.), a scenario demanding international cooperation. Additionally, the issue includes a pedagogical proposal for teaching philosophy based on philosophical new realism. We close this edition with an article analyzing the Western reception and interpretation of the I Ching, followed by two compelling reviews: the first, an interview with historian María Zebadúa, and the second, a review of the 5th National Meeting of Diverse Populations, held in Mexico City earlier this year.
